The Lost City of the Incas – Think the unimaginable: discover Machu Picchu!
Standing at 2,430 meters (7,972 feet), Machu Picchu (in Quechua,
Machu Picchu, meaning “Old Peak”) is one of the most important cultural
sites in Latin America. In 2007, in recognition of its origins, Machu
Picchu was voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the World. The
stonework of the site is one of the world’s great examples of the use of
natural raw material in creating outstanding architecture. Its giant
walls, terraces, and ramps seem naturally cut in the continuous rock
escarpments.
